2019-2020 Scholarship Recipients


ANNA BAKER is a full-time student enrolled at Penn State studying for a Bachelor of Accounting degree with an acceptance into the Integrated Masters of Accounting program. Before being accepted at Penn State Anna spent her first year at South Hills School of Business and Technology. Anna's long-term goal is to work as a Certified Public Accountant in one to the Big Four accounting firms. Anna was awarded the Evelyn Chostner Marboe Scholarship.


LAURA DREW is a part-time student at Penn State studying for a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Laura is married with a four year-old daughter, with plans for another baby in the near future. She loves reading, journaling, playing piano, and taking walks, as well as accomplishing schoolwork. Her summer plans include visiting lots of parks and pools with her family and volunteering at a therapeutic riding facility. After graduating she aims to work with children who have been abused and/or neglected by a counselor or social worker career. ! Laura received the AAUW State College Branch Award.


KIMISSE KING is a full-time student in the College of Education at Penn State studying for a Bachelor degree in Rehabilitative and Human Services. Kimisse is a single parent of four boys. She is employed by CentreSafe (Women's Resource Center) and also volunteers with several groups committed to doing social justice work. Her long-term goal is to continue on for her masters in Rehabilitative Counselin! g to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. She wants to continue her passion for working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, trauma survivors, and underserved populations. Kimisse was awarded the Suzanne McCrae Kerlin Scholarship.


VICTORIA PREWITT - RODRIGUEZ is a part-time student in the College of Liberal Arts at Penn State studying for a Bachelor's degree in Human Behavior and Societal Relationships, and integrated social science degree. Victoria is a single parent with three boys, the eldest is a freshman at Penn State. Upon completion of her degree, Victoria would like to continue to work in social services and finance within higher education or behavior intervention at a public-school system as she had i! n Fairfax, Va. Victoria was awarded the Simmons-Jansma Project Renew Grant.
