AAUW-CDG Mentoring Program Holds Graduation
The graduation of the participants in the AAUW‐CDG Mentoring Program took place on Saturday, January 31, 2009. Several members of the Mentoring Committee as well as the mentors and protégés were present. Also present was Ivonna Lee, a reporter from Voices, who will write an article about our Mentoring Program for the next issue of Voices.
We had a very nice luncheon with a long conversation about the Ledbetter Act and how all we felt about that. The mentors and protégés shared answers to a Scavenger Hunt which was located within themselves and was concerned with changes in themselves as a result of the mentoring relationship. One of the mentors suggested continuing the meetings and will invite the participants and the committee to continue meeting for breakfast on a regular basis. Certificates were given to each participant.
The next group of mentors and protégés will begin the program in September. We are currently inviting applications for protégés. If you know of someone who would be interested in participating, please contact Pat Kephart at: pbk1@comcast.net or 234‐2524.
